Editorial Policy

1. Our Mission

TunExplore exists to give travelers honest, current, and genuinely useful information about Tunisia. We are not a brochure and we are not a re-write of other guidebooks. Every destination guide, blog article, and practical tip on this site is rooted in lived experience, on-the-ground verification, and ongoing fact-checking. Our editorial mission is to help visitors make informed decisions about where to go, how much to budget, and how to travel respectfully through a country that we know intimately. We treat trust as our most important asset and we work to earn it on every page.

2. Editorial Standards

Every piece of content published on TunExplore follows a defined editorial workflow: • Fact-checking against multiple primary sources (Tunisian National Tourism Office, official transport operators, on-site verification) • On-the-ground research conducted by writers who have lived in or extensively traveled the regions they cover • Source verification for every price, opening hour, and transport schedule we publish • Expert review by local contributors including licensed tour guides and hospitality professionals • Clear separation between editorial content and any sponsored or affiliate placements • Plain-language writing that avoids unverified claims, exaggerated marketing language, and AI-generated filler

3. How We Source Information

We verify travel information through a combination of first-hand visits, direct outreach to operators, and cross-referencing with official Tunisian sources. Specifically: • Prices are checked at the source (taxis, louage stations, ferry counters, museums) and re-confirmed at least once per quarter • Transport schedules are cross-checked against SNCFT (rail), Transtu (Tunis transit), and louage station listings • Opening hours, entry fees, and contact details are reconfirmed quarterly via direct contact where possible • Hotel and restaurant recommendations require a personal visit by a contributor; we do not list venues sight unseen • When a source cannot be independently verified, we either flag the uncertainty in the text or omit the detail Our full content base undergoes a comprehensive editorial audit every three months.

4. Update & Review Cycle

Tunisia changes. Fuel prices, taxi tariffs, hotel rates, and visa policies all shift over time. We respond to that with two layers of review: • Continuous updates: when we learn of a price change, schedule change, or closure, we update the affected page within 48 hours • Quarterly comprehensive review: every three months our editorial team works through every destination guide and high-traffic blog article to re-verify prices, transport details, and practical advice Many of our articles display a "Last Reviewed" date below the byline. That date reflects the most recent editorial pass, not just the original publication date, so you can see at a glance how fresh the information is.

5. Authors & Expertise

Articles on TunExplore are written by people who have lived in Tunisia or traveled the country extensively over multiple seasons. Our contributors include licensed Tunisian tour guides, hospitality professionals, expatriates, and long-form travel writers with first-hand expertise in North Africa. Where an article has an individual author, you will find a byline directly below the headline with the writer's name, area of expertise, and a short biography. We do not publish anonymous editorial content, and we never present AI-generated text as the work of a human author. Native speakers review each language version of our content before publication.

6. Corrections Policy

We take accuracy seriously and we know we are not perfect. If you spot an error, an out-of-date price, a closed venue, or any other inaccuracy, please email us at diyzone.pro@gmail.com with the page URL and a short description of the issue. Our service level agreement for corrections is 48 hours: we will acknowledge your report within 48 hours, investigate, and either correct the page or explain why the existing wording stands. Substantive corrections are noted at the bottom of the affected article with the date of the change. We never silently rewrite history after an error has been published.

7. Affiliate & Monetization Disclosure

TunExplore is supported by two revenue streams, both clearly disclosed: • Affiliate partnerships with Booking.com (accommodation) and Discover Cars (car rental). When a reader books through one of our links, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to the reader. • Google AdSense advertising displayed throughout the site. We choose accommodation and car rental partners because they serve our readers well, not because they pay the highest commissions. Affiliate compensation does not influence which destinations we recommend, how we rank them, or what we say about them in editorial copy. Advertisements are clearly marked and are served by Google's ad network — we do not hand-pick advertisers and we do not accept payment for editorial coverage. If a piece of content is sponsored, it is labeled as such at the top of the page.

8. Contact for Editorial Questions

Questions about our editorial process, sources, or a specific article are welcome. Email the editorial team at diyzone.pro@gmail.com, or use the contact form on our /about page. We respond to editorial inquiries within 48 hours.
